Webflow App
The AltTextify Alt Text App for Webflow helps you generate AI-powered alt text for images in your site’s Assets panel and CMS Image / Multi-Image fields.
Generation is customer-triggered: you choose images and run Generate (or Generate All) in the Designer Extension. The App does not automatically generate alt text for every image in the background, and it does not scan the current Designer page canvas.
Permissions used: sites:read, assets:read, assets:write, cms:read, cms:write, authorized_user:read only (no Pages scopes).
Length presets are Whisper / Murmur / Voice / Echo (character limits)—not separate writing-style products.
Generated alt text should be reviewed; the App does not guarantee WCAG/ADA compliance or SEO rankings.

- Whisper — about 80 characters max

- Domain context: Optional context about your website/domain to help generate more relevant alt text (e.g., “This is an e-commerce website selling outdoor gear and camping equipment”).
- Alt Text Prefix: Text to prepend to generated alt text.
- Alt Text Suffix: Text to append to generated alt text.
Generate Alt Text
Alt text is generated only when you start generation in the App. Opening the App or loading images does not consume credits or generate alt text by itself.
- Use the Images tab for Site Assets, or the CMS tab for CMS Image / Multi-Image fields.
- Generate alt text for one image, or use Generate All for supported images in the current list.
- Review or edit the suggested alt text, then save it back to Webflow.
- Refresh to reload images and current alt text from Webflow.
- Filter images with / without alt text.
- Optionally hide decorative images under 50px in width or height.
The Designer Extension does not include a workspace switcher. To work on a different Webflow site, open that site in the Designer and use the App there (each site uses its own install and settings).
